Verifier FAQ

InVerify is an employment and income verification service that your employer uses to provide faster responses to inquiries about employment and income data. InVerify fulfills these requests through our website. If your verifier has questions regarding access or registration have them follow the steps on the website or call our Customer Support line at 866-295-7363.

InVerify is in place to help provide verifiers with instant access to your employment and income related information. The requestor must work directly with InVerify’s website to download a copy of your information. Using InVerify will speed up the process and help eliminate confusion related to inaccurate information. Please refer all verifiers to InVerify or (866) 295-7363 and we will handle the rest.

A Verifier is a person or organization that is requesting to verify another person’s employment or income information. Examples of verifiers include Mortgage Companies, Government Agencies, Property Managers, Leasing Agencies, and potential Employers for new jobs. All verifiers must have accepted our Verifier Agreement stating they have a Permissible Purpose, as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, for access to the information.

  • Bank, Mortgage Company, financial institution
  • Employment screening company verifying background
  • New employer recruiting or hiring an employee represented by InVerify
  • Auto dealership providing financing for an employee
  • Landlord or Property Manager that needs to verify employment data
  • School that requires employment information for credentialing
  • Social Services, Human Services, Child Support, Family Services
  • Housing Authority
  • Apartment or other property providing low income or subsidized housing
  • Work Program
  • Medicaid
  • Social Security Administration
  • Hospital providing financial aid
  • School that needs Income Verification for Head Start or other Government Assistance programs

It depends what you need from the website and what your employer provides to InVerify. When you go to the Employee pages, you will be directed to register if necessary.

If your employer offers this service, you can use the Employee Self Service pages to obtain a copy of your own report. Please note that the report is meant for your personal use only. It will be clearly marked that it is not for financial decision making.

Please direct the Government Agency to register at our website. They will be able to receive instant information at no cost once they are registered.

If they cannot register with us, they can send us a fax request 720-358-2700. They will need to include your company name or company code, your SSN, and a return fax number. Please note that it may take up to 3 days to manually process.

However, you can call us at InVerify Support and we can fax the information to your Government Agency on your behalf on the same day. Please call during business hours and be prepared to provide:

  • Your employer
  • Your SSN
  • The fax number to the agency (no personal fax numbers)
  • Your case number

Please direct the property manager/landlord to register at our website. They will be able to receive instant information at no cost once they are registered. They may call InVerify Support for help with registering (866-295-7363).

Your lender may ask you for an Income Key (they may call it a PIN number or Salary Key.) Not all employers require that your lender uses an Income Key. Please contact your HR department, or contact InVerify Support to determine if your employer requires that an Income Key be used.

The information your verifier receives from InVerify is secure, factual and up to date. The information has not been handled by individuals, therefore they can be sure that no data has been altered or fabricated. Calling an employer for this information risks receiving inaccurate information, or data that the person the verifier speaks to is not authorized to provide.
Your Verifier can always accept employee paystubs for this documentation, but these can be altered or fabricated. Keeping this data secure does require resources, so a fee is assessed to users that need this information.

An Income Key is an extra level of security that some employers require for a verifier to obtain your Income information. Check with your HR department or InVerify Support to see if your verifier will need this to obtain your Income information.
Government Agencies are not required to use an Income Key when providing Government Assistance.

If your lender has asked you for an Income Key (Salary Key or PIN number) you would simply give the default Income Key, provided by your employer, to your lender. There is no need to go to the website.
If you are using Employee Self Service on the website, you may be asked for this Income Key to obtain certain information.

Please note, you only need a Login Code to CREATE or CHANGE your Income Key. If your employer has provided you with a default Income Key, you do not need to continue on line to create an Income Key. This has already been done for you. You may give that default Income Key to the Verifier who needs it.
If your employer requires you to create an Income Key or you would like to CHANGE your current default Income Key, please contact your HR department or InVerify Support for instructions on how to obtain a log in code.

If you received a Default Income Key from your employer, you do not need to proceed. You may give that Income Key to your Verifier. You cannot use your INCOME KEY as a LOGIN Code. They are 2 different numbers.
Please contact your HR department or InVerify Support for the appropriate LOGIN CODE if you would like to CREATE or CHANGE your income Key.
